Welcome to Pitlochry - The gateway to the highlands.Welcome to Pitlochry, the gateway to the Highlands, situated at the geographical centre of Scotland, almost equidistant between Edinburgh and Inverness. The ideal base to relax and rest. Touring around the area - Dunkeld with its Cathederal and Birnam with the Birnam Oak, famous in Macbeth, the Birnam Institute arts centre and the lovely Hermitage with its woodland walks. Further across to Aberfeldy where you will find the birks, as mentioned by Robert Burns. The Bridge built by Wade and the newsagents owned by him now. There is the Dewars distillery there which makes lovely single malt. Logierait is where the rivers Tay and Tummel join and Ballinluig is where you get the petrol and diesel, then back up the A9 to Pitlochry where it's all happening. |
